COSRX Low pH vs Hydrium Hyaluronic Cleanser

Should I choose COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser or Hydrium Triple Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cleanser?

Short answer

Choose Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser if your skin is oily or congested and you want a mild gel with betaine salicylate and no added fragrance. Choose Hydrium Triple Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cleanser if your skin is dry or dehydrated and you like a rich, creamy foam with panthenol and three forms of hyaluronic acid; it lists fragrance.

What this means for you

Start with what you notice

If your face feels oily again an hour after washing, lean toward the gel. If it feels tight or dry, lean toward the moisturizing foam.

The ingredient names, translated

The Low pH gel uses mild surfactants plus betaine salicylate, a salicylic acid relative, and tea tree oil. The Hydrium cleanser is a fatty-acid soap-style foam (stearic, myristic and lauric acids with potassium hydroxide) with glycerin, panthenol and three hyaluronic acid forms. Hyaluronic acid in a rinse-off product has little contact time, so the foam's comfort comes mostly from its base.

How to decide

  • Oily or congested skin? Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser.
  • Dry or dehydrated skin and you like a rich lather? Hydrium Triple Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cleanser.
  • Avoiding added fragrance? The Low pH gel; the Hydrium cleanser lists fragrance.

What to expect

Both are everyday washes, not treatments. Rich foams can still feel drying on very sensitive skin, so watch how your face feels afterward. We haven't tested either product.

Light gel vs creamy foam

COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser is a 150 mL gel with a stated pH of about 5.3. It lists betaine salicylate, tea tree leaf oil and plant extracts, with cocamidopropyl betaine and sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate as cleansers.

COSRX Hydrium Triple Hyaluronic Moisturizing Cleanser is a 150 mL foaming wash. Its list leads with water, glycerin and fatty acids neutralized with potassium hydroxide, then adds panthenol, hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate. Fragrance appears on the list.

Skin Realist check: “triple hyaluronic” in a rinse-off is mostly about how the wash feels. Your serum and moisturizer do the real hydrating.

Label differences worth knowing

Fatty-acid foams like the Hydrium cleanser tend to sit at a higher pH than COSRX’s low-pH gel, though COSRX doesn’t state the Hydrium’s pH. See also our COSRX Low pH vs Snail Mucin comparison and hydrating cleanser guide.
