COSRX Snail Peptide vs CeraVe Eye Cream

Should I choose COSRX Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream or CeraVe Skin Renewing Eye Cream?

Short answer

Choose COSRX Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream if you want a lightweight eye cream led by snail secretion filtrate with niacinamide and five peptides. Choose CeraVe Skin Renewing Eye Cream if you want caffeine for puffiness plus three ceramides, cholesterol and peptides, and you don't want a snail-derived ingredient. Neither label lists fragrance.

What this means for you

Start with what you notice

Both are eye creams with niacinamide and peptides. Pick COSRX for a snail-based, lightweight texture, or CeraVe if puffiness is your concern or you avoid snail ingredients.

The ingredient names, translated

Peptides are short chains of amino acids used in anti-aging products. COSRX lists snail secretion filtrate first, then niacinamide, panthenol, adenosine and five named peptides. CeraVe lists niacinamide, petrolatum, ceramides NP, AP and EOP, caffeine, sodium hyaluronate, cholesterol and two peptides.

How to decide

  • Morning puffiness? CeraVe Skin Renewing Eye Cream, which lists caffeine.
  • Avoid snail-derived ingredients? CeraVe Skin Renewing Eye Cream.
  • Want a light texture with more peptides? COSRX Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream.

What to expect

Eye creams can make the under-eye area feel smoother and look less dry within days. Caffeine's effect on puffiness is short-lived. Neither will remove dark circles caused by genetics or shadowing. We haven't tested either product.

Snail eye cream vs ceramide eye cream

COSRX Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream is a 25 mL eye cream. Snail secretion filtrate leads the list, which COSRX gives as 73.6%, followed by sunflower seed oil, niacinamide, panthenol, adenosine and five peptides, including copper tripeptide-1.

CeraVe Skin Renewing Eye Cream lists niacinamide, petrolatum, ceramides NP, AP and EOP (ceramides), caffeine, sodium hyaluronic acid, cholesterol and two peptides. CeraVe says it’s ophthalmologist tested.

Skin Realist check: for the eye area, sunscreen and sleep do more than any cream. An eye cream is a moisturizer made for thinner skin.

Label differences worth knowing

CeraVe’s label lists isopropyl myristate, an ingredient some people with acne-prone skin avoid. See our eye cream, puffiness and dark circles guide and our COSRX snail vs peptide collagen eye patch comparison.
