COSRX AC Moisturizer vs Hyaluronic Acid Cream
Should I choose COSRX AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer or Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream?
Short answer
Choose AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer if your skin is oily or acne-prone and you want a light moisturizer with niacinamide, propolis and betaine salicylate. Choose Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream if you want a richer, fragrance-free cream with sodium hyaluronate and no exfoliants or essential oils. The AC moisturizer lists tea tree leaf oil and mint.
What this means for you
Start with what you notice
Both are COSRX face moisturizers. Pick the AC moisturizer for oily, breakout-prone skin, or the Hyaluronic Acid cream for a richer feel without acids or essential oils.
The ingredient names, translated
The AC moisturizer lists propolis, aloe and green tea waters, niacinamide, panthenol, zinc PCA and betaine salicylate, a mild exfoliant. It also lists tea tree leaf oil and mint ingredients. The Hyaluronic Acid cream starts with sea buckthorn water and lists sunflower and macadamia oils, sodium hyaluronate, panthenol and allantoin.
How to decide

- Avoiding essential oils and acids? Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream.
- Drier skin that wants a richer cream? Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream.
What to expect
A moisturizer won't clear acne, but it can make acne treatments easier to tolerate. Dry skin can feel more comfortable within days. We haven't tested either product.

Acne-prone moisturizer vs hydration cream
COSRX AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturizer is an 80 mL moisturizer for oily and combination skin. Propolis extract leads the list, then aloe and green tea waters. It also lists niacinamide, panthenol, zinc PCA, betaine salicylate and tea tree leaf oil.
COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream starts with sea buckthorn water, which COSRX highlights at 57.8%. It lists sunflower seed oil, macadamia seed oil, sodium hyaluronic acid at 3,000 ppm by COSRX’s figure, panthenol and allantoin.
Skin Realist check: a moisturizer that says “acne” on the front still isn’t an acne treatment. Its job is to keep skin comfortable while your treatment works.
Label differences worth knowing
If you avoid essential oils, mint or extra acids, the Hyaluronic Acid cream is the closer match. See our moisturizers for acne-prone skin guide and our COSRX propolis vs hyaluronic acid cream comparison.

Common questions
Is either fragrance free?
COSRX sells Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream as fragrance free, and its label lists no fragrance or essential oils. The AC moisturizer lists tea tree leaf oil, mint extract and menthyl lactate.
Does the AC moisturizer exfoliate?
It lists betaine salicylate, a BHA-type ingredient, near the end of its list. If you already use an acid, keep that in mind.
Which is better under acne treatments?
If your acne treatment is drying, a moisturizer without extra acids or essential oils is less likely to add irritation. The Hyaluronic Acid cream fits that description.
