What it is

Cremo Sensitive Skin Shave Cream is the brand’s version of its concentrated shave cream for sensitive skin. Cremo says it contains no synthetic fragrance and uses a blend of essential oils instead.

Key ingredients

  • Aloe leaf juice, macadamia seed oil and allantoin: The soothing, conditioning base.
  • Rice bran and sunflower extracts: Also on the label.
  • Essential oils: Roman and German chamomile, lavender, helichrysum and geranium oils, which Cremo says help soothe skin.

How to use

Splash your face with water for about 30 seconds. Squeeze out an almond-sized amount and spread a thin coat over wet skin; it doesn’t need to lather. Shave with any blade, adding a little water if the cream starts to feel tacky.

Who should be careful

“No synthetic fragrance” isn’t the same as fragrance free. This cream lists five essential oils, including lavender and geranium, which can still irritate some people. If you react to scent of any kind, check the full list first.

What the brand claims

Cremo says it fights nicks, irritation and razor burn for a close, comfortable shave on sensitive skin. The page gives no clinical figures.
