What it is
CeraVe Skin Renewing Nightly Exfoliating Treatment is a leave-on AHA serum for dullness, fine lines, dark spots and enlarged-looking pores.
Key ingredients
- Glycolic acid and lactic acid: A 5% AHA blend for gentle exfoliation.
- Licorice root extract: Included to brighten.
- Ceramides (NP, AP and EOP): CeraVe says they help restore the skin’s natural barrier and keep moisture in.
- Hyaluronic acid: CeraVe says it helps maintain the skin’s moisture balance.
How to use
Prime the pump five or six times before first use. At night after cleansing, spread one pump over the face and massage in. Use alone or follow with moisturizer.
Who should be careful
It contains an AHA, which can increase sun sensitivity. CeraVe advises sunscreen, protective clothing and limited sun exposure while using it and for a week afterward. Using it alongside retinol or other acids may cause irritation; CeraVe suggests asking a dermatologist first. Avoid the eyes and lips.
What the brand claims
CeraVe cites an eight-week consumer self-assessment reporting softer skin after one day and brighter, more even tone after eight weeks, without giving sample size or figures.
